Having a little boy while working toward a PhD has been challenging and rewarding. With all the work that I'm usually confronted with, time is very precious. However, spending time with my family, especially with my son, has helped change me for the better, and serves as a healthy distraction from work. Plus, he just makes me happy!

It's wonderful that you are keeping your family as a priority with all the demands on your schedule. What will matter to your son is that you were there with him, not that you have a PhD (though I'm sure he'll be proud of that when he's older!)
